“Erase your skin’s past” with Medical Microneedling

MicroneedlingAre you wondering what all the hype is about with Microneedling?

Well, the medical grade version of microneedling is a safe, effective and a consistent treatment where tiny needles puncture the skin.  This treatment stimulates inflammation and a healing response which in turn promotes skin renewal, repair, and rejuvenation.  Natural growth factors are released to stimulate reformation and fresh collagen.

Collagen reduction for all skin types

Did you know that our collagen decreases by an average of 1.7% every year beginning in our mid 20’s? It’s hard to believe but the proof is in the research.  Microneedling is safe for all skin types, which is not true for chemical peels and laser treatments, which is why we love this treatment so much.

Medical grade microneedling versus non-medical grade

Microneedling is also known as Collagen Induction Therapy, Percutaneous Collagen Induction, and Scar Rejuvenation Therapy.  If you want the most bang for your buck, you should have a medical grade microneedling treatment, as we are able to penetrate the skin up to 2.5 mm in depth, whereas non-medical microneedling can only penetrate up to 1.0 mm in depth.

Why is needle depth important?

The longer needles stimulate the dermis- the deeper layers of your skin. This makes it possible to treat a larger variety of skin concerns including scars, stretch marks and increases the results of overall skin rejuvenation. The depth of the needling is different for each area of the face and the condition being treated.

Recommended protocols

The recommended treatment protocol for rejuvenation is 4-6 treatments 4 weeks apart.  For acne scarring, six treatments are recommended 6 weeks apart and stretch marks need 4-8 treatments 4-6 weeks apart.

So what conditions do we recommend microneedling for?

We recommend microneedling for rejuvenation, aging/loose/dull-appearing skin, vertical lip lines, hyperpigmentation, enlarged pores, stretch marks, scars (acne, surgical and burns), fine lines, dilated capillaries, sun damage, age spots and rosacea.

We look forward to seeing you and starting your medical microneedling regimen to more youthful, radiant skin.
